Exciting News for Haj Pilgrims in 2024: Reduced Costs from Saudi Arabia

The upcoming year, 2024, brings forth fantastic news for individuals planning to embark on the Haj pilgrimage. Specifically, Saudi Arabia has announced a significant relief for those intending to undertake this spiritual journey. The total expenses for the Haj pilgrimage from Saudi Arabia are expected to decrease by 50,000 rupees compared to the costs incurred in 2023. According to media reports, this reduction is attributed to the Saudi government’s decision to lower the expenses for ‘Moallem’ to 2521 Saudi Riyals, approximately equating to nearly 50,000 Indian Rupees.

Enabling Children to Join the Pilgrimage

For aspirants desiring to perform the Haj pilgrimage, there’s even more heartening news – this time, concerning the inclusion of children. This year, pilgrims will have the opportunity to take their children along on this sacred journey. However, it’s important to note that there will be additional expenses incurred for bringing younger children along. Reports suggest that for children under two years of age, a fee amounting to 10% of the airfare will be applicable, while those above two years will necessitate expenses equivalent to an adult’s Haj pilgrimage cost. In line with the guidelines of the Haj Committee of India, children above the age of two will be treated akin to adults in terms of expenses.

Application Deadline Details

The application process for Haj pilgrimage commences from December 4th, with the Haj Committee accepting online applications through its website and the Haj Suvidha App. Interested individuals should take note that the final date for submitting applications for the Haj pilgrimage is December 20th.
